Govt announces €3.1m extra for enterprise boards

Up to 400 jobs are to be created after the Government announced €3.1m in additional funding for the county and city enterprise boards.

Up to 400 jobs are to be created after the Government announced €3.1m in additional funding for the county and city enterprise boards.

Minister for Small Business John Perry said the money would go directly to fund job creation projects for the rest of this year.

The county and city enterprise boards provide funding to assist small businesses and start-ups and promote entrepreneurship locally.

The money was freed up after savings were made elsewhere in the Department of Enterprise.
