FG selects Eithne Loftus as Dublin West candidate

Fine Gael has selected its candidate to represent the party in the Dublin West by-election.

Fingal County Councillor Eithne Loftus, who is originally from Mayo, was chosen at a selection convention in Castleknock last night.

The Dublin West by-election follows the death earlier this year of former Finance Minister Brian Lenihan.

The by-election will be held on the same day as the presidential election, on Thursday, October 27.
