Higgins to ask Labour members to nominate Norris
Michael D. Higgins has asked Labour party members on Dublin City Council to facilitate the nomination of David Norris onto the Presidential ballot.
Labour candidate Mr Higgins is to make the request ahead of this evening's council meeting, at which a motion to back David Norris has been tabled.
The Senator needs to secure one final local authority to follow in the footsteps of Dana and make it onto the ticket for the Áras, with four county council nominations the target number.
