Man shot in face

A man has been arrested after another was shot in the face.

The gun attack happened at a house in Connolly Park, Tubbercurry, Co Sligo, at about 8pm last night.

The victim, in his 30s, was taken by ambulance to Sligo General Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

It is understood the shooting happened after an earlier argument between the men.

A Garda spokesman said a man in his 30s was arrested at the scene and is currently detained a Ballymoate Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.

The scene has been preserved pending a technical examination.
