Shatter: McGuinness an 'inappropriate' presidential candidate

The Minister for Justice Alan Shatter has said Sinn Féin's Martin McGuinness is an "inappropriate" person to become President of Ireland.

Speaking in Brussels he said it would not be right for Mr McGuinness, a former IRA commander, to assume the title of head of the Defence Forces by becoming president.
