Dana to pitch presidential bid to Kildare council

Dana Rosemary Scallon is to seek the support of Kildare County Council in an effort to get her name on the Presidential ballot paper as an Independent.

The former MEP needs the signatures of either 20 members of the Oireachtas, or four county councils to do so.

She is to appear before a special meeting of the authority at 8.30am on Wednesday morning
