PSNI officer hurt in Newtownabbey attack

A police officer has been injured after a device was thrown at him and a number of colleagues in Newtownabbey.

The attack happened as he attended an alarm at business premises on the Mill Road shortly after midnight today.

A PSNI spokeswoman said his injuries were not life- threatening.

Two members of staff also suffered from shock.

Police appealed for anybody with information to contact them.
