Third of residents would confront intruder, says survey

Almost a third of people say they would confront or attempt to restrain an intruder if their home was broken into.

A total of 31% would take action, according to a new survey from AA Home Insurance.

The survey of more than 13,000 people found that Cavan residents are the most likely to tackle a burglar.

Just less than 40% said they would play it safe and hide before calling the gardaí.
