Teen hospitalised after Dublin stabbing

A 17-year-old male is in hospital after being stabbed in Dublin overnight.

He was walking in Marewood Crescent in Ballymun shortly before 9pm when a car approached him and a number of people got out, one of whom was armed with a knife.

The young man was attacked and suffered stab wounds to his back and head.

He was taken to the Mater hospital in the city centre.

The scene of the incident has been sealed off for a technical examination. No arrests have yet been made.
