Man critical after Ballyfermot shooting

Gardaí in Ballyfermot are investigating a shooting which has left a man in a critical condition in hospital.

The man in his 40’s was approached by a lone gunman and shot three times on Oranmore Road, Ballyfermot, Dublin 10, at 3.20pm this afternoon.

The injured man has been removed to St James Hospital where his condition is described as critical.

The gunman is believed to made his escape on a bicycle.

The scene of the shooting is sealed off pending a Garda Technical Examination.

Gardaí are asking for witnesses to contact Ballyfermot Garda Station on 01-6667200, the Garda Confidential Line (1-800-666-111) or any Garda Station.
