By-election to take place on same day as Presidential election

The Taoiseach Enda Kenny has said the Dublin West by-election will take place on the same day as the Presidential election.

The election will fill the seat vacated by the late Brian Lenihan.

Mr Kenny said his party has not yet selected a candidate to contest the election, but that polling day would be on October 27.
