A post mortem examination will take place today on the body of a man murdered in Dublin over the weekend.

A post mortem examination will take place today on the body of a man murdered in Dublin over the weekend.

The 49-year-old, who has been named as Tom McDonagh, was gunned down at his home at St Margaret's halting site in Ballymun on Saturday night.

The victim was was married with children.

Superintendent John Gilligan said a full investigation is underway and officers are looking to establish a motive.
