Pair appear in court on drugs charges

Two people have appeared in court in Birr in Co. Offaly charged with possession of drugs with intent to sell.

The man and woman, who are both Vietnamese, were arrested late on Wednesday night after €400,000 worth of cannabis was discovered in Portarlington.

They have both been charged under Sections 3 and 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Act and have been remanded in custody.

They are to appear before Portlaoise District Court next Thursday.
