Two teens have been arrested as part of an investigation into hacking.

Two teens have been arrested as part of an investigation into hacking.

The arrests are part of an investigation by the Garda Computer Crime Investigation Unit attached to the Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation.

Searches were carried out at two houses in Co. Galway and Co. Offaly this morning.

Gardaí seized computers and other media equipment which was removed for forensic examination.

During the course of the search in Co. Offaly, equipment and chemicals associated with the production of controlled drugs were seized.

Two men aged in their late teens were arrested and are currently being held at Tullamore and Galway Garda Stations under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
