Enterprise minister to visit MBNA operation
Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton is to travel to the MBNA headquarters in Co Leitrim tomorrow.
It comes after the recent announcement by the US company that it is to sell off its Irish and UK credit card operations, putting 750 jobs in the north-west in doubt.
Minister Bruton will meet with staff and management at the Bank of America company in Carrick-on-Shannon.
Management are looking for a buyer for the business, and it was recently reported that one of Virgin boss Richard Branson's companies was interested.
The minister will also be meeting with local Oireachtas members and representatives of the local business community.
