The Irish Heart Foundation has launched a new campaign urging men not to delay in calling 999 if they think they are having a heart attack.

Around 6,300 people suffer a heart attack in Ireland every year but only half of these will contact emergency services.

The new campaign is aimed at urging men in particular to be aware of the symptoms of a heart attack and call 999 if they suspect they are having one.

Westlife's Nicky Byrne, who lost his father Nicky to a heart attack in 2009, is supporting the campaign.
