Govt seeks clarification on MBNA plans for jobs
The Government is seeking answers about the future of the MBNA financial services operation in Carrick On Shannon.
The firm's parent company Bank of America has announced it is withdrawing its credit card business internationally.
Enterprise Minister Richard Bruton has now written to Bank of America seeking clarity on its plans and what affect if any it will have on its Irish operations.
The Minister has also asked the IDA to work closely with the company with a view to assisting them finding a buyer for the business as a going concern.
