Two held over west Belfast shooting
Two people have been arrested by police probing a shooting on the outskirts of west Belfast.
The victim 34, was shot in the ankle during the gun attack on Monday afternoon. Police are questioning a boy and a man on suspicion of attempted murder.
Police said four men burst into their target’s home in Lagmore. Officers outlined details of the arrest operation today.
A PSNI spokeswoman said: “The 14-year-old youth and 49-year-old were detained in the White Rise area this morning. Both are being questioned on suspicion of attempted murder.
“Police searches at a property at White Rise have also uncovered a number of items including two firearms and a quantity of ammunition. Army technical officers have been tasked to examine the firearms and a number of homes may have to be evacuated.”
