Irish raffle aims to break world record

Punters buying tickets for a charity raffle in Co Down stand more than a fair chance of winning as organisers try to break the world record for the number of prizes on offer.

The draw in Castlewellan at the end of the month may take some time as the record breaking target is 4,500 prizes.

The “World’s Biggest Tombola” event is being staged at a new family festival in Castlewellan‘s Forest Park on Sunday, August 28.

It is being run by Mainstay DRP which works with people with learning difficulties.
