McGuinness calls for Brendan Lillis release
Sinn Féin MP Martin McGuinness has called for the release of prisoner Brendan Lillis, saying he is seriously ill.
Mr McGuinness said the use of prisoner licensing and revoking of licences amounts to internment without trial, and said Brendan Lillis should be released immediately from Maghaberry jail's hospital.
Brendan Lillis was sentenced to life in 1977 on explosives charges but was released on licence in 1993.
Hi release was revoked in 2009 after he was re-arrested on robbery charges. He is deemed too ill to stand trial.
