Gay Byrne 'would consider presidential run' if majority wanted him to

Gay Byrne has said that if a large majority of the people of Ireland wanted him to be president he "would have to consider it".

Speaking to RTE radio, he said no one had approached him officially to run, and that an anti-political party sentiment may have motivated people to suggest his name.
