Three held after Irishman's murder in Dominica
Police in Dominica have arrested three suspects after an attack in which an Irish holidaymaker was killed and a US couple who own a hotel on the Caribbean island were injured.
A police statement said the suspects were being questioned by detectives about the attack in the north-eastern town of Marigot on Sunday.
Officers said three masked men brandishing a machete, a hatchet and a plank of wood demanded money from the US couple outside their Pagua Bay House hotel and restaurant in Marigot.
Irish national Joseph Costello, 43, was attacked when he rushed from his hotel room to help. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Americans Rich and Alicia Davison were treated at a local hospital. They have lived in Dominica for years.
