Armed gang tie up two men in case of 'mistaken identity'

Gardaí are hunting for an armed gang who broke into a house in south Dublin last night and tied up two men who live there.

Shortly before 7pm yesterday evening, four men armed with a handgun, hammers and knives entered the premises on Brighton Road in Rathgar.

They used cable ties to tie up two men who live at the house but left empty-handed, leading gardaí to believe the incident was a case of mistaken identity.

Nobody was injured and the men made off in a 05-registered blue BMW.
