Initiative launched to stamp out child obesity

Chicken nuggets and chips on children's menus may soon be a thing of the past.

A new initiative has been launched allowing children to order a child's size portion of an adult meal from the adult menu while eating out.

It is hoped the move will tackle the growing problem of childhood obesity.

Dietician and Manager of the Nutrition and Health Foundation, Dr Muireann Cullen said it is up to parents to put pressure on restaurateurs to implement this initiative.
