The Sisters of Mercy have confirmed they are not attending a meeting with the Education Minister Ruairi Quinn this afternoon to discuss compensation for victims of abuse.

The Sisters of Mercy have confirmed they are not attending a meeting with the Education Minister Ruairi Quinn this afternoon to discuss compensation for victims of abuse.

In a statement, the sisters said they sought a meeting with the Minister on their own and would not attend a meeting as part of a group of 18 religious groups.
