European Affairs Minister Creighton: German view of crisis is changing

French President Nicolas Sarkozy will travel to Berlin today for a meeting with the German Chancellor, ahead of tomorrow's critical European summit.
Angela Merkel yesterday played down any expectations that a major move would be agreed in Brussels to resolve the Greek debt crisis.
She said further steps would be required, not simply a "spectacular event" that would solve everything.
Tomorrow's talks are also expected to discuss measures to deal with debt management across the Eurozone.
Despite the comments from Chancellor Merkel yesterday, Ireland's Minister for European Affairs Lucinda Creighton said the German view of the situation was changing.
"I think that's already happening. The German Minister for Finance said that the confidence crisis caused by Greece is now jeopardising the Euro as a whole," she said.
