Nursing Homes Ireland is to hold a major recruitment drive in Dublin next month to encourage more nurses to take up positions in the nursing home sector.

A survey carried out by the organisation has revealed that up to 500 nursing posts are currently available in nursing homes around the country.

It is also being predicted that 1,400 posts will be created over the next year.

Nursing Homes Ireland Chief Executive Tadgh Daly said he hoped the seminar event on August 23 would entice more people to take up a career in the sector.

It will take place in the D4 hotel, Ballsbridge, Dublin between 2pm and 6pm.
