The young boy got into difficulty in the water at about 11.30am today in the Gleneagle Hotel in Killarney.

The young boy who died was from Ballymun in Dublin, and is thought to have been on holiday when the tragedy happened.

He was pulled from the water, but attempts to resuscitate him failed, and he was pronounced dead at Tralee General Hospital.
