Monsignor was 'never supportive' of Church guidelines on child safety
The Monsignor who had been tasked with child safety in Cloyne has said he accepts his primary role in the failure to implement the church's own guidelines.
Denis O'Callaghan, in a statement, admitted he was was "never fully supportive of the Church procedures", but acknowledges that he should have followed them.
The Monsignor said he had tried to respond to victims with kindness, and that he was deeply sorry that he had failed so many of them.
