Pedestrian dies, driver in hospital, after Monaghan accident
A man in his 30s has died after he was hit by a car in Co. Monaghan.
It happened at about 11.40pm last night on the road between Castleblayney and Ballybay.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man in his 20s, who was driving the car, has been taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.
The scene of the crash has been sealed off, pending a forensic examination, and Garda investigations are continuing.
