Nurses at Naas General Hospital are to be balloted for industrial action next week.

Nurses at Naas General Hospital are to be balloted for industrial action next week.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation said it is holding the vote over chronic overcrowding at the Kildare hospital.

It regularly boasts the highest number of people being treated on trolleys of any hospital in Ireland.

INMO Industrial Relations Officer, Derek Reilly, said that overcrowding is endangering patient's lives.
