Three held in connection with fuel laundering
Three men from the North have been arrested in the Republic after a major fuel-laundering plant was uncovered.
The black-market operation in Castlefin, Co Donegal, was equipped to produce about three million litres of illegal diesel a year.
The Revenue Customs Service said the laundering scam would have cost the Exchequer €1.3m in lost revenue every year.
Officers seized 12,000 litres of laundered fuel, a lorry, a van and a car at the plant.
The three suspects have been detained at Letterkennny garda station.
