Wexford post-office fraud probe 'will not impact customers'

Gardaí in Wexford have launched an investigation into the misappropriation of funds at a post office in Gorey.

An Post has said Gorey post office remains open for business after the launch of an ivestigation into the alleged misappropriation of funds.

An Post said the probe would not impact in any way on customers.

Gardaí in Wexford have launched an investigation into the allegations. On Wednesday, an Post dicovered a very significant amount of cash irregularities during an internal audit, and called in the gardaí.

Officers from the Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation are expected to interview staff at the post office this week as part of the inquiry.
