Three killed in Limerick, Wexford and Longford crashes

Three people - including a seven-year-old boy - have been killed in separate road crashes in counties Limerick, Wexford and Longford today.

In the latest collision, a man in his late 20s died when the motorcycle he was riding was involved in a crash with a car at Carrigeen in Limerick just before 4pm today.

The Croom to Ballingarry Road is closed until further notice and motorists are being asked to take an alternative route.

Earlier in Co Longford, a man in his 30s was killed when his bike collided with a lorry on the N4 near Newtownforbes.

And in Clonroche in Co Wexford, a seven-year-old boy died after he was hit by a jeep on the Main Street in the town. It is understood he had been chasing a dog across the road.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to any of these incidents to come forward.
