Aurelius settlement may pave way for burden-sharing by AIB junior bondholders

Finance Minister Michael Noonan has welcomed today's High Court settlement involving Aurelius Capital Management and the State.

Aurelius Capital, along with some linked firms, had challenged an order which would allow for the burning of junior bondholders.

It is thought the decision will pave the way for some burden-sharing by those junior bondholders in AIB.

The terms of the settlement will remain confidential for commercial reasons.
