Irish alcohol and tobacco prices 170% of EU average

Ireland had the highest prices for alcohol and tobacco products in the EU in 2010 at 170 % of the average, according to a new report.

The report by EU statistics agency Eurostat says that most of the price variation between countries for alcohol and tobacco is due to different taxation.
