Man dies in Mayo road accident

A man has died after a two-car collision in Co Mayo.

The accident happened on the Headford to Ballinrobe Road outside Shrule at around 7.30am this morning.

A 19-year-old man, who was driving one of the cars, was killed and pronounced dead at the scene.

Another man, who was in the second car, received minor injuries.

The road is currently closed pending completion of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Local diversions are in place and traffic is advised to travel via Cross.
