Varadkar asks airport authority to halt CEO's bonus payment
The Transport Minister Leo Varadkar has written to the Dublin Airport Authority asking it to stop the payment of a bonus to Chief Executive Declan Collier.
The authority's annual report shows Mr Collier was awarded performance-related bonuses of more than €100,000 last year.
The payment has been deferred until the end of his contract.
Meanwhile, the report also shows that the DAA made a profit of more than €33m last year, despite continued difficult trading conditions and the impact which the volcanic ash cloud and bad snowfall has had on passenger volumes.
This profit is a big turnaround for the DAA, as the company recorded a loss of more than €13m in 2009.
