Boy accused of raping girl, 15, at teenage disco

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the alleged rape of a 15-year-old girl at a teenage disco in Dublin.

Gardaí were called to Tramco nightclub in Rathmines, south Dublin, at around 11pm last night when the girl claimed she had been seriously sexually assaulted.

It is alleged the attack happened in the men's toilets.

The girl was taken to the sexual assault treatment unit at the Rotunda Hospital.

The boy was arrested at the scene and taken to Terenure garda station where he was held overnight.

He is being questioned under section four of the Criminal Justice Act and can be detained for up to 24 hours.
