Economy not in freefall, insists Noonan

Finance Minister Michael Noonan has today denied that the domestic economy is in freefall after new figures show continued decline.

The CSO says the economy grew by 1.3 % in the first quarter, but once multinational activity is taken out, the economy went down 4.3%.
