Gardaí at scene of potential stand-off in Waterford City

Gardaí have been called in after a man barricaded himself into a house in Waterford City.

The alarm was raised just after 5.30pm this evening and officers are still at the scene at The Glen, Penrose Lane.

There are unconfirmed reports that the man is armed with a gun, and the surrounding area has been sealed off.

Gardaí said tonight that nobody has been injured.
