Judge adjourns Wicklow fire case until October

A hearing at Bray District Court into the deaths of two Wicklow firemen has been adjourned until October.

Twenty-six-year-old Mark O'Shaughnessy and 46-year-old Brian Murray, a father of 15, died while tackling a blaze in a disused warehouse on the Lower Dargle Road in Bray in September 2007 after the roof of the building collapsed.

Wicklow County Council appeared in court today in connection with the incident, charged with four breaches of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act.

Judge Murrough Connellan adjourned the case until October 11 to allow the prosecution additional time to prepare the book of evidence.
