Gardaí question five over arms find

Five men remain in Garda custody as part of an ongoing investigation into gangland activity.

They were detained in Kill, Co. Kildare early yesterday morning when Gardaí stopped and searched their vehicles, uncovering two guns.

Officers believe they may have been en route to commit a serious crime.

All five, who are in their thirties, are being held at Clondalkin and Ballyfermot Garda Stations in Dublin.

It is understood that the gang have been under garda surveillance for some time.
