Former soccer player Ward pleads guilty to killing woman

A court has heard a once-talented soccer player killed a woman because he thought she was spreading rumours about his newborn baby being taken into care.

Wesley Ward of Aras Na Cluaine, Clondalkin, Dublin pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Tracey O’Brien in Dublin on June 25, 2009.
