An ex-footballer, who served a three-year sentence for killing a woman in Dublin, has been spared jail for getting into a drunken row with Luas security guards.

A court has heard a once-talented soccer player killed a woman because he thought she was spreading rumours about his newborn baby being taken into care.

Gardaí have named the 30-year-old woman who died following a road crash in Co Meath earlier this week.
