Probe into 'Corrib Rape Tape' to end in matter of weeks
The Garda Ombudsman has said an investigation into the so-called 'Corrib Rape Tape' will be complete before the end of the summer.
It surrounds an incident in which Gardaí were inadvertently recorded making comments about two women protestors who had been arrested.
The women were protesting against the Corrib gas pipeline on March 31 and Gardaí who seized a video recorder were caught on tape saying they would rape and deport a woman who refused to give her name.
Commissioner Conor Brady says the investigation should be complete in a matter of weeks.
