RUC officer 'amazed' at number of border crossings by force members
An RUC officer who worked in a regional command headquarters has told the Smithwick Tribunal that he was "amazed" at the frequency with which senior members of the force crossed the border to meet with Gardaí.
The tribunal is looking into allegations of Garda collusion in the killing of RUC Chief Superintendent Harry Breen and Superintendent Bob Buchanan in March 1989, as they returned from a meeting with Garda officers in Dundalk.
