Dublin street open again after explosion

Gardaí have re-opened Erne Street in Dublin city centre, after a gas explosion earlier today.

Investigations are continuing into the incident, during which a man suffered severe burns.

He is being treated at St James' Hospital along with a woman and child who are suffering from shock.

The scene at a flat at Pearse House on Pearse Street in the city centre remains sealed off this evening.

A number of other units in the four-storey building were also evacuated.
