Ninety members of the Defence Forces have left to take part in the new UNIFIL mission to Lebanon.

Ninety members of the Defence Forces have left to take part in the new UNIFIL mission to Lebanon.

The advance team, which will be based at Irish Headquarters in Tibnin, is made up of a security element as well as logistics personnel, including weapons, ammunition and communications experts.

A full contingent of 440 Defence Force members will be deployed to South Lebanon at the end of June.
