Dublin man jailed for three years on drugs charges

A 25-year-old Dublin man has been jailed for three years at Limerick Circuit Court for having drugs worth more than €5,000.

Barry Doyle of Portland Row, Dublin and Hyde Road in Limerick, pleaded guilty to having cannabis resin and over a thousand prescription tablets for sale or supply on February 9, 2009.

The court heard Doyle was intercepted by gardaí off a train in Limerick after detectives received information he was en route from Dublin with the drugs.

Doyle told gardaí he had lost his job and was going to sell the drugs to feed his three children.
